Password reset on an NTU PC

If you are working off campus on an NTU laptop here is how you will need to change your password.

You must change your password on the laptop you are using rather than any other device you have at home. You if don't do this you may get locked out of your NTU device you are using to work on.

See the video here for instructions on how to reset your password on an NTU PC.

First you will need to connect to Pulse Secure.

Pulse Secure will be in “All Programs” on the Start Menu.

To connect Pulse Secure, select Connect.

https://support.ntu.ac.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360014536698-Password-reset-on-an-NTU-PC-Select Proceed.

None of the images are uploading in my browser so I can't check if I am going to the right Pulse thingy. Embedding links in the guide would help ensure we are going to the right place.

I tried to change my password today but got a vague and frankly pretty useless error message about my chosen password not being good enough - didn't give any details it just hinted it might be too short, not complicated enough, or have the wrong characters.

I can't find any up-to-date guidelines on what my password needs to have in it - could somebody clarify this please. The only article I could find was from December 2019 - not exactly up-to-date :D

    Hi James,
Your new password must contain at least 8 characters and 3 of the following:
A minimum of 1 upper case letter
A minimum of 1 lower case letter
    A minimum of 2 numbers
    A minimum of 1 symbol

This information and more can be found in our Changing Password guide.

    Many thanks,
    Chloe

I have tried a new password with 9 million different icons, symbols, capital letters, lower case, head case, amphibious landing aircrafts, and still it won't change the password. I give up.
