What is Pulse Secure?

This is an additional component mobile devices and Windows PC / OS Mac can install to give you full network access to NTU resources. Once installed it is like being directly connected to the NTU network. Applications normally only accessible whilst being in NTU suddenly become accessible from anywhere. For iPad/iPhone/iPod it can be downloaded from the Apple App store.

  • Once connected you can use additional apps like Remote Desktop Connection to access your NTU PC, applications like Secure Shell (SSH) and map network drives to connect directly to the NTU network.
  • If you have Cisco’s IP Communicator software installed you can use your office phone wherever you are.

How can I access my NTU PC using NTUanywhere?

You will need to be running Network Connect or Pulse Secure. Using an app such as Remote Desktop Connection (on a PC), or the Mac equivalent, enter your PC name and you will get access to your remote enabled PC in a remote session. You can then work as if you are sitting in the office.

I have a Juniper Networks program group on my PC now  - What is this ?

If you have used the NTU staff only realm then this program group gets installed the first time you use it. Pulse Secure can be accessed directly from here.

Can I access my network files?

Yes. You can do this in a number of ways. Either by using the web bookmarks which will present your home directory and possibly other drives or by mapping a drive if you are using Pulse Secure.

Is Google Chrome supported?

No. Google Chrome no longer supports npapi java plugins which NTUanywhere uses so NTUanywhere will not run properly if using the “ntu staff only” realm. It will work with other realms.

Is Windows 10 and Yosemite supported?
